Data & provenance
Roam Atlas inventory comes from government recreation feeds, public land datasets, OpenStreetMap-derived camping layers, and other disclosed sources. Every public place page can show linked sources when we have them.
What we show
- Place identity, coordinates, and category when known
- Ownership and operator when present in source data
- Amenities, prices, and length limits only when sourced
- Status (seasonal / closed) when we can derive it from trusted feeds
- Last-seen / last-verified dates when retained
What we do not invent
- Missing amenities or hookups
- Rig Fit limits without evidence
- Observed cell speeds or satellite usability
- Real-time site availability
Limitations
Duplicates, stale seasonal status, sparse amenities, and incomplete reservation links remain. See the Sources tab on a place for provenance. Corrections and claims tooling will expand over time.
